CloudWays is affordable, easy to set up and, above all, it is a powerful cloud hosting platform for WordPress sites. In this CloudWays review I will tell you why it is the best cloud hosting choice for everyone who wants to be in the cloud.

Like I told you in this previous post about Namecheap I like that cloud hosting means “speed” and I know everyone wants a faster web page or blog.

After my bad experience with a shared hosting service I was looking for a good hosting company with affordable pricing, but I saw that these cloud hosting companies have products for developers in mind.

I was giving up when I found CloudWays and it was the perfect solution for a non-developer like me and you.

CloudWays is a great platform, perfect for people who want to start in the blogging world and in this CloudWays review I will show you why.

Read this CloudWays review carefully.

Why do I say in this CloudWays Review that it is an ideal platform for a new bloggers?

It is because CloudWays is a cloud hosting platform in which you can host your blog among 5 cloud providers, that are: DigitalOcean, Vultr, Linode, Amazon Web Service and Google Cloud.

Surely you will think: why should I buy my hosting in CloudWays if I can go buy directly from one of the cloud hosting companies and pay less monthly?

I will tell you in this CloudWays review that cloud hosting companies are made for developers.

By this I mean that these companies only sell you the space you need in the cloud and the backup, but you are responsible for the installation and maintenance of the hosting.

If you are not a developer, the installation and maintenance of the hosting can be complicated and difficult.

Instead, CloudWays takes care of the installation of your hosting and the maintenance, those characteristics make CloudWays a great option for you to have a blog hosted in the cloud.

I sincerely hope that this CloudWays review will be useful for you.

A little about CloudWays

It is good to talk in this CloudWays review about the company.

CloudWays was founded in 2009 in Malta. Its founders are: Uzair Gadit, Aaqib Gadit, and Pere Hospital.

As of today, CloudWays has offices in Spain and in Dubai. It has over 30 workers and over 8000 users worldwide.

CloudWays is highly regarded by WordPress users for the good prices and functionality that the company offers.

In addition, CloudWays adapts perfectly to the functionalities and needs of WordPress to offer fast and secure blogs and web pages within reach of all budgets.

In this CloudWays review we will see the benefits of CloudWays for your blog.

Why CloudWays?

CloudWays has great benefits for you but for me it was the fast loading speed that my blog has now, and I want you to have as well.

1.- CloudWays offers unique solutions in the cloud.

CloudWays offers unique solutions in the cloud

As CloudWays is a cloud hosting platform, you will enjoy all the advantages of working in the cloud as I will show you in this CloudWays review.

Multiple Copies: As CloudWays is a cloud platform, the data on your blog or website is hosted on multiple servers. So if the main server fails, immediately copies of the other servers come to the rescue, minimizing downtime.

Backups: This is a significant advantage of CloudWays. You will always have a copy of your site ready to restore your data. I will give you an example: I was reviewing different options to optimize the speed of this blog and, by chance, I moved the code of the footer of the blog but I did not realize it, and as you will understand the blog showed errors. Luckily, CloudWays had a copy of the blog and it saved me. I restored the blog fast with a few clicks. For those little details, I love CloudWays.

Easy Migration: CloudWays gives you a free migration made by themselves.

Unlimited Applications: You can have all the applications you want in your hosting. For example, in my hosting I have two blogs and everything is fine.

Scaling is easy: In case you want to do an important ad campaign and you know that you will have more traffic than normal on your blog or website, you can gain more resources with just a few clicks to support the ad campaign and after the ad campaign you can return to your normal resources.

Pay as you go: With CloudWays you pay monthly for the resources you use. You will not be tied to a hosting plan for a year or more like in other companies.

Security: Each CloudWays server is independent, to prioritize security, but they work together to provide an excellent service.

Dedicated resources: The resources you pay are only yours and are not shared with other people like in other companies. Your hosting performance will never be affected.

Super fast loading time: CloudWays offers the fastest servers on the market so blogs or web pages load quickly. In addition, CloudWays offers premium CDN services.

As you can see in this CloudWays review, hardly any other cloud hosting company can match the features that CloudWays offers. And best of all, CloudWays works well with the most used Content Management Systems (CMS) like WordPress, Magento, Drupal and Joomla

2.- CloudWays offers High Speed Performance

What I like about this CloudWays review is that I can write all that I know will be useful for you, and a significant point of this cloud computing platform is its high speed performance.

CloudWays servers are fast and can support all the traffic of your blog and web page with no slowness, this is a significant advantage that you will only find on cloud computing platforms.

What does CloudWays offer to make your blogs or web pages load fast?

Dedicated resources: The resources you pay for are yours alone, you will not share them with anyone. This is an enormous difference with the shared hosting offered by other companies that we saw in this post.

Breeze: This is a free caching WordPress plugin developed by CloudWays that optimizes the speed of your WordPress blog. It is a free and very efficient plugin. One more reason to love CloudWays.

For the other applications they also offer advanced cache technologies such as Memcached, Varnish, and Redis.

For Magento, they offer full page cache.

Reddis Support: This is huge. After enabling Reddis you will see improvements in the performance of databases. Combined with Apache, Nginx, and Varnish you will get an unbeatable performance.

PHP Ready Servers: All CloudWays servers are PHP 7. The fastest version to date.

Good Content Delivery Network (CDN): CloudWays offers a good Content Delivery Network (CDN) service at a good price of $1 per 25GB of traffic.

Auto-Healing Servers: If CloudWays servers fail you shouldn’t worry, most of the issues within the server of CloudWays are resolved with auto-healing restarts.

If you want speed and security for your blogs or web pages, CloudWays is the perfect option for you.

We are progressing more and more in this CloudWays review and we haven’t yet reached the best part.

As I mentioned in the previous post, this blog was hosted on a shared server before, and the loading speed was not good. I worried because Google wants all pages to load quickly.

In this Google study, you can see very clearly that Google wants web pages to load faster.

With CloudWays I found the speed that I expected so much and I want you to have it too. That is the reason for this CloudWays review.

This blog is loading at 360 ms — less than a second, and it has a score of 85.

The measurement I am doing here is: https://tools.pingdom.com/

And I am using the CloudWays $10 plan and have chosen DigitalOcean as my server.

pingdom less than a second

3.- Good security management

CloudWays has dedicated firewalls that protect servers at OS-Level.

They offer 1 click free SSL installation that only takes 1 click to install it yourself. This CloudWays feature, believe me, is really worth it; in the other hosting company it took 24 hours to install the free SSL installation.

It has IP whitelisting.

They have regular security patching and firmwares updates.

And they have two-factor authentication for your CloudWays account.

The best thing about CloudWays security is its free automatic backups that they do regularly and believe me, this is a lifesaver.

If someday you are playing with the code on your blog or website and you get an error that you do not know how to fix, the backup of CloudWays will save your life, as with a single click CloudWays has the latest version of your blog or website without the mistakes you made.

Now I will tell you guys about an impressive feature of CloudWays in this CloudWays review.

4.- Great Customer Support

An exceptional strength of CloudWays is its excellent customer support.

The first time I spoke to them was to ask if customer support was only in English. I asked my question via chat and they answered me in less than a minute.

I also contacted CloudWays customer support with a question I had about their affiliate program. In less than 48 hours I had a detailed answer to my question.

Those have been the only two times I have contacted CloudWays customer support, firstly because this platform is very easy to use and also because they have great documentation to solve problems that you can read here.

Knowing that a hosting company has significant customer support is a decisive factor for your choice and, in this case, CloudWays does it very well.

You can contact CloudWays by chat, or email, in its free version of customer support.

CloudWays offers 3 levels of customer support.

I forgot, when you are already a CloudWays clients they will assign you a Customer Success Manager who will help you with any problems you may have.

Luckily, so far everything has gone well with my CloudWays hosting. That is why i am very happy writing this CloudWays Review.

5.- Team Collaboration

A significant benefit of CloudWays is the opportunity to team up to collaborate on web development projects.

This is very useful for agencies that manage numerous servers to host web pages.

cloudways-team-collaborations

6.- Website Monitoring

Another impressive feature that I want to highlight in this CloudWays review is the possibility of monitoring your server in real time to know that everything works perfectly.

In addition, CloudWays has a bot that sends you email, notifying you of the status of your servers and web pages.

cloudways-monitoring

CloudWays Cons

In this CloudWays review, I found some issues that may be a problem for you.

No Email Hosting

CloudWays does not offer a free email service like other hosting companies do.

They offer email services as a separate paid add-on. For email accounts (mailboxes), you can use their rackspace email add-on (pricing starts from $1/month per email address).

But as I mentioned in the previous post, it is better not to have everything in one company.

To have corporate email you can choose GSuite from Google.

No cPanel

If you have come from a shared hosting solution to a cloud hosting solution, then  not having a cPanel may be challenging, but you will see that you won´t miss the cPanel when managing your hosting in CloudWays.

Take some time to learn how to manage it.

Yes, you will have to learn new things but this is the exciting part of the technology, learning new things everyday

This CloudWays review is for you to have all the information to make a good decision about the hosting of your blog or web page.

With this, I end the pros and cons of this CloudWays review.

Plans and Pricing

Plans and pricing is a very important topic to talk to you about in this CloudWays review.

As I told you before in this CloudWays review, other cloud hosting companies may be cheaper but they have products with developers in mind. In CloudWays, you pay a little more but they take care of the maintenance and the updates for your hosting in the cloud.

CloudWays offers a wide variety of plans and pricing:

Well, this is not just a CloudWays review. We will see how to install a new server and, believe me, it only takes a maximum of 10 minutes.

Installing a server in CloudWays

The most important part of this CloudWays review is installing a server and I will show you how easy and fast it is.

Let’s continue with this CloudWays review with the steps to create a server because this CloudWays review must be useful for you.

cloudways-servers

By default, DigitalOcean will select a 2GB server for you. In my case, I chose DigitalOcean with a server size of 1 GB and a location in New York. Just click to increase or decrease the size of the server.

cloudways-server-configuration

Remember, CloudWays is pay as you go and, with this setup, I will only pay $10 per month. This CloudWays review is getting good.

Once your configuration is ready, click on launch now and you will have to wait around 7 minutes for your server to be ready, although it could be ready in a  shorter time.

CloudWays-waiting-server

After waiting, CloudWays will notify you that your server is ready and you have to click on your server, in this case the server is called Technology.

cloudways-server-ready

First, you will find this view of your new server.

To add a WordPress blog on your server, you have to click on applications.

cloudways-applications

And in applications I recommend you to click on WordPress in the latest version, which is a version optimized for CloudWays.  In this case the latest version is WordPress 5.4.2

And that’s it. Your WordPress blog is in the cloud thanks to CloudWays.

Linking Cloudways and Namecheap

Now what you have to do is enter domain management to make the link between the domain that you have bought in Namecheap with your new blog.

Upon entering domain management, you will see this screen.

Cloudways-domain-management

In primary domain, you must put the name of the purchased domain, in this case, as an example, I will put in the name I bought from NameCheap.

cloudways-el-experto-tecnologico

Before going to NameCheap you must have this number at your fingertips.

CloudWays-Public-IP

With your public IP number ready, go to the NameCheap Dashboard and select the purchased domain. Here, as an example, I will select El Experto Tecnológico.

namecheap-dashboard

Click manage and go to advanced DNS. Upon entering, you will find this screen.

namecheap-default-screen

Then click on add new record and the final configuration of your domain should look like this.

namecheap-configuration-dns

The first thing to do after clicking on add new record is:

Find option: a record

In host, place: @

In value, place your public IP that CloudWays gave you.

TTL: Automatic

After doing these steps, you can enter your domain by placing it in the browser, for example: elexpertotecnologico.com

But what if people write www.elexpertotecnologico.com? For that, this is the following configuration:

Click on add new record:

Find option: a record

In host, write: www

In value, place your public IP that CloudWays gave you.

TTL: Automatic

Done, you already have a blog on CloudWays with your domain configured.

I will be happy if this CloudWays review is useful for you.
